- Naktu and his friends appeared to have made an appearance in The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy in the episode Wishbones. After Saliva got captured by Turu, Irwin, Billy, and Harold run into a group of cavemen designed differently with shoes and spears, chasing them back to their aircraft (except Irwin who got captured by Turu).
- In the episode, the scene where they first appeared together is a reference to the African natives from the abandoned Jack Armstrong test film. The likely reason why they were added to replace the natives is likely due to the chief having pink lips, resembling the caricature of blackface.
- A comic book based on this episode released.
- This episode was rarely rerun in later years on Boomerang; also the title card was strangely cut whenever they aired it.
