Rajiv is the mystic teacher of Hadji. The master-student relationship is said to be more important than father and son in some ways.

History

Rajiv is held captive and forced to use his mystical powers to cause great distress to ambassadors during a peace conference. The Quest Team heads to India to help with the conference, and Rajiv is able to send psychic messages to Hadji, leading the Quest Team to find where he is being held and help him escape. With Rajiv no longer forced to disrupt the ambassadors, the peace conference is a successful.

Notes/trivia

• Rajiv was never mentioned before his introduction, and never appears or is mentioned after. The only indication that he, or a character like him, existed is that Hadji has mystical abilities and presumably learned them somewhere.
• In the original series, Hadji's only known acquaintances before meeting the Quests are Pasha Peddler, and an unnamed American marine who taught him English and judo.
• Dr. Quest says, "Thanks to Rajiv, the conference was a success." This statement isn't explained; it could mean that Rajiv simply helped stop the disruption, or it could suggest that Rajiv used his powers to help encourage the ambassadors to come to peaceful terms.
